Newman is a wonderfully innovative colleague. During our time at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, he was a consistent source for cutting edge ideas, and a passionate participant in the world of emerging and social technologies. As a member of the library's advisory board, he provided critical input about improving our physical and digital spaces.
On numerous occasions I've observed Newman patiently teach faculty and students how to adopt and integrate instructional technologies into their professional work flow. On a personal level, I have learned from his ability to communicate complex ideas in simple, straightforward ways.

Newman would be a tremendous, positive force for innovation and progressive change in any organization: public or private, academic or corporate. I recommend him without hesitation and with full confidence in his knowledge, skills and abilities.

Newman is one of the most enthusiastic evangelists for web-based technologies in the transformation of educational instruction. He has been one of my main sources for information on new and interesting advancements. I have found that he is constantly evaluating technologies, looking for solutions to existing educational problems. He is especially interested in the ways people communicate and how web-based tools can improve or enhance our interactions. He is truly dedicated and patient as he works with faculty and staff.

Newman and I had the opportunity to work, collaboratively, on a variety of projects in our graduate studies in instructional technology. To me, his real strength lies in his ability to approach complex challenges in novel ways. He brings innovative thought to his endeavors, and to me, that's a premium asset.

Newman is very forward-thinking, tech-savvy, well-spoken and student-centric. He's always thinking of ways to add value to and expand the reach and scope of student work. I've been impressed with his ePortfolio campaign to enable student assignments to "live beyond the grade." His insights on the future of teaching and student learning are invaluable. He's got his finger on the pulse of the future of education.

While working in the UNCW Research and Development Department I had the privilege to work along side Newman. Newman was a pleasure to work with and he is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him to any future employer looking for an outstanding individual dedicated to what he does.

Innovative, creative, and organized are the top three qualities that make Newman such a valuable asset to any team. He also has a great "big picture" approach to project completion, while staying focused to effectively manage daily tasks. He is always willing and excited about going "outside the box" and most definitely goes above and beyond. I am still learning so much from him, as he is always on top of the latest technologies and continues to share.

I truly believe my online instructional skills and the course we co-developed would not be as innovative, creative, and well organized as it is if it weren't for Newman!
